[Records-Access-Alerts] (US-NY-NYC-Queens) New Free Online Naturalization documents Database Queens Public Library and Office of Court Administration
Date: 3 July 2023 at 8:29:27 am AEST

The Queens Public Library (New York City, NY) changed its name from Queens Library to Queens Public Library to honor the diversity of the library’s customers and communities it serves. In addition to  name change it has a new website. It has 62 locations.

QPL’s main color is now purple, a color associated with some of the qualities QPL seeks to cultivate, such as wisdom, creativity, dignity, and ambition, and a secondary palette of colors highlights the vibrancy and diversity of the public the Library serves.

The new tagline is “We speak your language.” It means QPL not only speaks Spanish, Chinese, Bengali, Russian, Greek and many other tongues, but also imagination, tech, history, LGBTQ, HTML, finance, non-fiction, science fiction, story time, chess, teens, opportunity, and many other interests and pursuits

To read more about the changes, including the library’s blog and press releases see: https://www.queenslibrary.org/about-us/news-media

[Records-Access-Alerts] Microfilm Request Change at FamilySearch

FamilySearch has announced that “Due to the rapidly diminishing supply of microfilm, the ability to request copies of microfilms from the Granite Mountain Record Vault to be viewed in the FamilySearch Library will no longer be available after Saturday, July 15, 2023. We are currently working on alternate methods of access for microfilmed records that cannot be released to the public online. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we develop these alternative options.”
