  • Government > Pneumonic Influenza patients, Wallangarra Quarantine compound: Indexes the names of people admitted to the Wallangarra Quarantine Compound of Pneumonic influenza patients 1918-1919. During the outbreak of pneumonic influenza, strict health regulations were enforced to prevent the spread of this highly infectious disease. Border camps, such as Wallangarra Quarantine Compound, were established to keep all people entering the state in quarantine for a period of 7 days.

  • Schools, Hospitals and Orphanages > Lazaret patients registers 1892 - 1940: The registers are admission, medical, discharge and death registers of sufferers of Hansen's disease (also known as leprosy) at Stradbroke Island (Dunwich), Friday Island, Peel Island and Fantome Island Lazarets. Several of the registers record personal particulars such as name, age, sex, nationality, parent's details and other biographical information. Also often recorded are dates of admission/arrival, dates and locations of death, burial and grave information, discharge dates and transfer information. Some of the registers record medical treatment and test results during the patient's period of residence.

  • Immigration > Redeemed land orders 1860-1906: This is an index to a number of series registers of land orders held at Queensland State Archives. The registers record land orders issued to immigrants on the completion of their obligations under the law at the time; as well as land orders issued to employers of immigrants; head of the family, businesses and Shipping and Immigration Agents could act as nominators. The registers include details of the immigrant applying and date of issue of the grant.

  • Lands and Mining > Land selections 1885 - 1981: This is an index to registers of selection under the "Crown Lands Act 1884". Information includes name of selector; number of selection; date the land was open to selection; Government Gazette reference; date of application; date of lease; terms of lease; payments made; transfers; any change of number e.g. when the boundaries of Land Agents' Districts were changed, new numbers were allocated to affected selections; and what happened to the selection e.g. purchased, surrendered, forfeited, subdivided.
