In March 2018 the City of Boston started to permit people to order death certificates online. Now they are offering the opportunity to order birth certificate online. The increase in requests is a result of more Bostonians needing their birth certificates ahead of the REAL ID 2020 deadline. The REAL ID Act, is a federal law passed in 2005 that requires citizens to possess either an “enhanced driver’s license" or a passport to enter some federal buildings and fly domestically. The records may be ordered directly through the Boston Registry of Birth, Death and Marriage.
Previously, a contracted third-party was the way to access the certificates which cost $40 and took several weeks to complete the process. The City is offering mail-in certificates for $14 and walk-in certificates for $12.00

A GATHERING OF WOMEN WHO DESERVE TO BE REMEMBERED...
Rather than write another blog on the ineteresting women in my family, I have gathered a collection of articles I have written, some of which you may have missed. These are the ones I have selected so far... more to come over the next two weeks... enjoy.
Thank you for your patience over the last few weeks when I have had difficulties with sharing my blogs. It seems to be ok again now. Thank you to my generous genie friends who generously shared my links wherever they could. Your help is much appreciated.
Just in case this reoccurs, you are able to subscribe simply by adding your email in the subscribe bar in the side column of any or all of my blogs.
