It began as SeekingMichigan.org 10 years ago when the Archives of Michigan and Library of Michigan partnered to deliver more than 1 million records online. Now, more than 10 million records are available online along with interesting educational materials and countless stories chronicling the everyday lives of Michiganders.  The archives are available free of charge. The death records are available online up to 1943; birth records up to 1919 due to legislative requirements.

ABSCONDED CONVICTS     .. Trove Tuesday 15th Nov 2022

Many fellow Australians have discovered they have convict connections, as my family does. We never seem to find enough about them.. Once people would be reluctant to claim any such heritage, now they are mostly happy to acknowledge what, for some, is considered ‘tongue in cheek’ Australian Royalty.

Included are just a few of the items referring to absconded convicts… There is also a list of previous articles re absconders.
